The Duets Collection is Garman Homes' two-story townhome offering within Allen Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. The collection is comprised of 119 attached homes across two plans, I Got Chills (end unit) and Someway Somehow (interior unit), which are 1,978 and 2,059 square feet, respectively. The collection adds depth to Allen Park and the community’s larger traditional products, expanding buyer choice and bringing highly livable yet attainable homes into the mix. Between the two floor plans, the collection is designed to appeal to first-time buyers and young families who want space without sacrificing affordability as well as move-down buyers and busy professionals who seek low-maintenance living. Since opening for sale in July 2024, Garman has sold 51 homes in this collection. Prices start at $350,000.

This aerial captures the Duets at scale, showing the two-story townhomes and alley-loaded rear garage configuration that keeps street-facing façades clean and porch-forward. The collection takes its name from Garman's music-inspired brand ethos – just as two artists can create something greater together than either could alone, pairing homes allows the builder to deliver more attainable, connected living without sacrificing quality or individuality. Garman’s intentionality extends into how the plans were designed: rather than following the conventional townhome formula where interior units are smaller and less desirable, Garman flipped the concept entirely, making the interior Someway Somehow plan the larger of the two at 2,059 square feet. According to the builder, this inversion has driven strong sales across both unit types.

Garman Homes worked with Don Ruthroff of Design Story Spaces to design the collection. The collection’s transitional elevation style is intended to feel unique in a more traditional market. Clean board-and-batten siding in a light neutral palette, four-sided brick at the foundation, a glass-panel front door, and a covered front porch reflect Allen Park's design guidelines while giving the homes a fresh, design-forward identity. Though the homes are connected, the end unit feels distinctly independent.

The tour includes the I Got Chills end unit model. At 8 feet deep, the covered front porch delivers a functional outdoor living area rather than just a landing or transitional space to the indoors.

The I Got Chills plan is 1,978 square feet with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a 2-car alley-loaded garage on a 26-by-110-foot lot. Unique features of the home include the ground floor primary suite and second floor loft. The plan width also allowed the team to place the stairs over the garage, preserving the living area entirely.

The ground-floor primary suite is one of the more popular features in the I Got Chills plan. For move-down buyers and busy professionals who prioritize the convenience of single-level living, this configuration is a genuine differentiator in the attached-home category. Tucked next to the front porch, the primary bedroom shares walls with virtually no other interior space.

The I Got Chills plan takes its name from lyrics in the iconic Grease duet, “You’re The One That I Want.” The inspiration draws from unbridled joy of walking through your front door for the first time and thinking, “I get to live here.” Garman's team describes it as the feeling they hope every buyer has at the moment of move-in. Merchandising Concepts Inc. ran with that energy in the model interior, merchandising vibrant blue tones throughout.

The dining area sits between the family room and kitchen with its own dedicated view to the outdoors, which is made possible as an end unit. That extra side of windows is precisely why Garman’s strategy makes sense to keep the end unit smaller: the added light and airiness compensate for the square footage. The interior units, without that same window advantage, benefit more from the extra space.

Kitchen cabinetry spans two walls, with a sizable walk-in pantry tucked between. Rather than a traditional design center, Garman offers curated interior packages that pair finishes, fixtures, and materials into cohesive, named design stories The model is finished in the Bougie Boho package with warm wood tones, earthy greens, textured pendants that are inspired by natural materials with an elevated twist. A stacked washer/dryer sits in a closet off the owner's entry, tucked between the alley-loaded garage and the kitchen. This location maintains the single-level livability while keeping the noise away from the primary bedroom.

The second-floor loft, measuring 21-by-11 feet, is large enough to function as a media room, home office, or play space. Connected to the secondary bedrooms, it is also a great dedicated space for kids to hang out away from the more formal family room below.

According to NHTI research, 71% of consumers who need a 3-bedroom home think that secondary bedrooms can share one bath, so this is a great use of balancing consumer preferences and square footage.

The collection includes one unmodeled floor plan. The Someway Somehow plan takes its name from the Garman team's interpretation of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," a song about perseverance and the belief that no matter how hard the journey, things will come together. Buying a home is an emotional process, and the name is an intentional nod to that resilience. At 2,059 square feet with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a 2-car garage on a 22-by-110-foot lot, this plan is larger than the end unit. The extra square footage makes this plan particularly well-suited for first-time buyers and young families who need room to grow but don’t want to sacrifice attainability. According to the builder, the inverted size approach has resonated strongly, driving sales across both unit types.
