JBREC Councils

Unparalleled networking for housing industry leaders

JBREC Councils bring together senior leaders across the housing industry to share ideas and challenge assumptions. These curated groups are designed to foster candid conversations, meaningful relationships, and actionable insights that members can take back to their organizations.

Applications open in July 2026. Seats are limited. Included at no extra cost with New Home Trends Memberships.

How it works

Small, curated groups

Councils are capped at 25 to 35 members to preserve the quality of conversation. Submitting an application does not guarantee a seat. No more than one company representative on a council.

Two meetings per year

Council members meet virtually each spring and in person each fall. Depending on the year and council priorities, we may also host additional in-person sessions or focused think tanks to go deeper on key topics.

Senior-level participation

Typically 15+ years of industry or role experience

Format

Combination of presentations, expert panels, and open discussion

Annual membership

The council fee covers up to 2 seats per company, pending approval.

Client testimonial

"The New Home Trends Institute has created a forum with some of the best, most exciting master planned developers in the country, all bringing their A-Game to group conversations. The honest exchange of ideas has created a real sense of trust among the members—and the feeling that you can call another member of the group to talk over an idea or an issue. The Burns crew is, as always, leaders in painting the Big Picture and fearless in bringing up topics that might make you squirm, but provide deep-dive insights that make the time spent together so worthwhile. Thank you!"

"Being part of the NHTI Consumer Council has been an incredibly valuable experience. It creates a unique environment to listen to and learn from peers across the industry, while also gaining unfiltered insight into how consumers are thinking and making decisions in real time.

Each session challenges assumptions and sharpens perspective. I consistently walk away with insights that not only influence our work at Milesbrand, but also reinforce the importance of creating communities that truly resonate with people.

At the end of the day, it’s about raising the bar, building places that people are proud to call home and that meaningfully enhance how they live, connect, and experience the world around them."
